Celebrating the Builders: The Agarwal of the Week Series

The Agarwal community has produced some of the world's most remarkable entrepreneurs. Here's why we celebrate them — and how we'll spotlight our own members, with their blessing, every week.

OF THEWEEK

Behind every great enterprise is a person who took the first risk. Our community has more of those people than almost any other on earth.

A community of builders

Steel and telecom. Mining and media. Textiles, trade, finance and technology. Walk through almost any sector of the global economy and you will find an Agarwal family that helped build it — often starting from a single shop, a single ledger, a single act of courage.

That is worth celebrating. Not as boasting, but as inspiration: proof to every young founder in the community that the distance from a kirana counter to a global boardroom is real, and that people who share their roots have walked it before them.

Why “Agarwal of the Week”

We're building a weekly series that spotlights one builder from the community — their journey, their craft, and the lessons other entrepreneurs can take from it. The goal is simple: turn quiet excellence into shared learning, and remind the next generation what is possible.

Over time, the people we most want to feature are not distant billionaires — they are APN's own members: the founder scaling a textile brand across the Gulf, the trader opening a new corridor in Africa, the second-generation operator modernising a family business.

Featured with permission, always

Celebrating someone should never mean using their name or face without asking. So our spotlight series features individuals only with their explicit consent — a conversation, a yes, and a story told the way they want it told.

It's the same principle of respect and trust (saakh) that the whole community is built on. We'd rather feature one member who is proud to be there than a dozen who never agreed to it.

Want to nominate someone?

Know a builder in the community whose story deserves to be told — a mentor, a partner, a quietly brilliant operator? Once you're a member, you'll be able to nominate them (and yourself) for the Agarwal of the Week series.
